Pedorthic Clinics
What does a pedorthic clinic mean in terms of Barks Pedorthics?
Essentially Evan Barks, our certified pedorthist, will be available at a time and place to offer his services. This could include:
simply speaking with folks about their lower extremity health
perform lower extremity biomechanical assessments
dispense orthotics/compression socks/braces
offer insight into appropriate footwear selection and sizing
A full on assessment usually takes about 45 minutes and involves Evan interviewing a client about their medical history; taking a closer look at how they stand and walk; as well as moving their feet around to check the joints, skin and other tissues. All that Evan needs to conduct these assessments is his purple suitcase, a relatively quiet room, a chair for the client to sit in, and someplace to watch them walk a few paces.
Clinics can be held wherever there is a venue that would like to host us. These can be one time events, or ongoing arrangements occurring once a month or every other week. We can conduct clinics at:
Allied Healthcare Facilities
Community centers
Athletic facilities
Places of business such as office buildings or factories
Clinics typically operate between four to eight hours. We accept drop in appointments during these times, especially if it is just for some quick advice or questions, however priority will be given to clients who call Barks Pedorthics ahead of time to reserve a time slot.
Our next clinic will be on July 11th at the Tillsonburg Senior Centre Rotary Room. We will be there from 9:00AM - 1:00PM. It is located at 45 Hardy Avenue, Tillsonburg, Ontario. Please reach out to Barks Pedorthics directly if you wish to reserve a time slot.
